Stop the Gush: June 29th

There’s no question that the Gulf oil spill is affecting everyone across the nation in some way or another. But how can we help, we’re all the way out here in little ole San Jose? Well, if you can’t make it out to the Gulf to volunteer in person, there are plenty of ways to pitch in from right here at home; donations, make oil booms, support local groups sending funds and supplies, etc.

One of those many ways is by attending Stop the Gush, “a benefit concert to raise money for families affected by the Gulf oil spill and for advocacy in support of renewable energy” on June 29th at the Theatre on San Pedro Square.

The concert will feature two Bay Area independent bands, Careless Hearts and Tin Cat.

Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Global Green USA to help document the impact of the oil spill on the lives and livelihood of Louisiana fishermen and their families and to the Bay Area Climate Collaborative, BACC, for advancing clean energy solutions including electric vehicles.

Tickets are just $20 via Brown Paper Tickets or $25 at the door. However, seating is very limited so be sure to purchase your tickets soon!
