Happenin’ at the HP Pavilion

The So You Think You Can Dance Tour on November 25th was the second time this year that I attended an event at the HP Pavilion. (The first time this year was my one and only Sharks game… I believe it was this year.. my how time flies.)

Oh by the way, SYTYCD was *awesome* - if you are unaware of what it is, basically it’s a reality show tour - much like that of the American Idol tour, I assume. But better. (Slightly biased opinion, but you’ll survive.) Where was I? Oh reality… “dancers” and dancers audition, dance, get voted off, someone wins, big tour for top 10-12 finalists. This was SYTYCD’s third season and it was fabulous.

Moving on…

There are some people who are up-to-date regarding the shows happening at the HPPSJ but if you’re like me, I only pay attention when it’s someone I like or I’ve driven past the venue and happened to glance up at the screen while the certain band/comedian/whatever’s ad is displayed.

So, for you, my friends, here is a quickie list for December. I know there are other venues in the South Bay - but we can get to those on another day OK?

Oh and I’m not going to list anything about the Sharks - a) not a fan (don’t hurt me, hey I went to lots of SJSU hockey games, that has to count for something) and b) the rest of the SJMetbloggers handle the Sharks just fine.

Dec 2nd - Andrea Bocelli
Dec 4th - Spice Girls! (Tickets are still available - I’m actually tempted to go.)
Dec 5th - Dane Cook
Dec 14th - Larry the Cable Guy
Dec 16th - Van Halen (See, to this I went “?!” no clue they were even touring.)
Dec 21st - Dancing With the Stars (probably not as cool as SYTYCD - again, my opinion)
Dec 26th - 30th - Walking with Dinosaurs

(Tickets here, via Ticketmaster - as that was the link off of the HPPSJ site)

By the way, this isn’t an all-is-happy-marshmallows-and-puppies post about the HP Pavilion, I have had my share of poopy shows there. The Sarah McLachlan show I saw a few years ago wasn’t *that great* as my ears didn’t agree with the acoustics and whatnot - Sarah just didn’t sound right, kind of echo-y really. So.. yeah.. just had to say that.

Oh and the Blue Man Group will be here in January - I highly recommend their show! I saw them in Vegas and it was pretty cool.
