Laboring to the Bays

And I thought I was intelligent — by not going away for a vacation during the Labor Day weekend. I thought I had learnt something about holiday traffic from my Memorial Day experience. I thought I could stay home mostly and just go to some nearby places and beat the freeway rush. I even decided to not venture out on Monday to avoid the crowd returning home. But what happened ulitmately?

Half Moon Bay beach

On Saturday, I zipped on 280 and then crawled on Highway 92 to Half Moon Bay. The beach was better than Santa Cruz, but I didn’t get to see good scenic stuff.

On Sunday, it was Monterey Bay and the 17-Mile Drive. This time, it was even more excruciating on 101 and Highway 156. But, the spectacular beauty of the place declared “All’s well that ends well”.

No photos to put up the pain of the drives, just ones to relish the nature. Can anyone let me know what I should do for holidays though?
