Sunnyvale Baylands Park

Want to go out and have fun with the familly on a sunny day? Just want to catch some fresh air on a lazy Sunday? How about breaking away from the maddening city life? Sunnyvale Baylands Park is a good option. Located just off Lawrence Expressway / Caribbean Drive, it is a fairly large park near the wetlands created off the Bay.

So, what do you have there? Short trails to walk or cycle, picnic areas, a large meadow, lots of trees (in the Wave Walk), an amphitheater and a small flower garden provide variety. Check out the map.

It seemed like the wetlands would be more interesting in the rainy season. With the summer kicking in, it seemed more like ‘drylands’. Anyway, for us, it almost seemed like a trip to the Indian countryside, though we could see vehicles zipping on CA-237.

You need to pay $5 for parking; but, of course, we didn’t have to, since our parking luck followed us. Check out the Web-site for more details and the San Jose Flickr Group for more photos.
