iPod Vending Machine

Did you know anyone can purchase an iPod at the Macy’s in Westfield Valley Fair? That’s right. On the second floor next to some racks of womens’ blouses, you can find an iPod vending machine.

I wonder who’s brilliant idea it was to put another opportunity to buy iPods in Valley Fair. Didn’t they realize there already is an Apple Store in the mall? People know it. It’s big, bright, and has giant white-lit apples in the storefront. You can not miss it! I bet you didn’t even know there was a vending machine tucked away in the back of Macy’s now, did you?

The iPod vending machine is a conversation-starter, but does it really sell any iPods?

Was there anything else in the vending machine? Maybe it’s an Apple vending machine. Get someone to say “hey look and ipod in a vending machine – crazy!” they walk a bit into the mall.. “you know, i’ve been meaning to buy an ipod..” they chit chat with their friends, check out the stores they intended on going to. But in the back of their minds.. ipod..ipod..ipod. Oh look they’re walking past the Apple store! Next thing you know… ipod in hand, fancy covers, and headphones. Alright so that’s a stretch, but stiiiill. I’d like to know how much they actually sell in a given month.
